Launch of Drone Pilot Jobs and Training Program in India
As part of its mission to help commercial UAVs "become a reality" in India, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has begun a recruitment and training push for drone pilots. Andria Gandhi Rastriya Udaan Academy, a government-run aviation school, said over the weekend that it will be adding drone pilot training programmers to its curriculum. The announcement follows the recent signing of a contract between the academy and the Indian drone operator Drone Destination. According to Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA) Secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola, "[Drones] are] unquestionably a new and rising industry with immense possibilities and opportunity," he declared at the 36th foundation day of IGRUA.
