As part of its mission to "make commercial UAVs a reality" in the nation, India's Ministry of Civil Aviation has started a recruitment and training campaign for drone pilots . Over the weekend, the government-run Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Udaan Academy made the announcement that it would be adding drone pilot training programmes to its curriculum. Following a recent deal between the academy and Indian operator Drone Destination, the news was made. According to Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA) Secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola, "[Drones] are] unquestionably a new and rising industry with immense possibilities and opportunity," he declared at the 36th foundation day of IGRUA”. Recently, Drone Destination, a private company based in Delhi, and the top aviation training facility in Uttar Pradesh signed an agreement to work together. Drone manufacturing is becoming a reality in India, according to Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA) Secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola, who called it a "completely fresh and growing industry with infinite potential and opportunity."
