The Recruitment and Training of Drone Pilots is Started In India

As part of its mission to "make commercial UAVs a reality" in the nation, India's Ministry of Civil Aviation has started a recruitment and training campaign for drone pilots.

Over the weekend, the government-run Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Udaan Academy made the announcement that it would be adding drone pilot training programmes to its curriculum.

Following a recent deal between the academy and Indian operator Drone Destination, the news was made.

According to Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA) Secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola, "[Drones] are] unquestionably a new and rising industry with immense possibilities and opportunity," he declared at the 36th foundation day of IGRUA”.

We pioneered the software revolution, and we have the capacity to lead the drone revolution as well, he said, according to a report in Hindustan Times. "In that direction, we've made a little progress.

The first is that even drone operations require pilots, and IGRUA is setting up one of the first drone training facilities.

The entire drone regulatory structure has been put in place, he said, and very soon drones will be governed, watched over, and controlled in the same way that aircraft are.

In order to deal with drones' growing use, India, in Kharola's opinion, needs to be able to control them well.

The difficulty is making sure that we not only excel in drone manufacture but also in managing them, he said.

Kharola also made a suggestion that IGRUA might eventually enter the drone manufacturing industry.

The Indian government is pushing more for the use of drones in a variety of sectors, including agriculture, law enforcement, and disaster management.

At least 40% of new drone pilots must be women, according to the government.
